THE BARN & SCOTTY'S GARAGE

by Tracy Vellacott
The Barn & Scotty’s Garage is a café and function destination nestled on a small property along Flagstone Creek Road.

The business was purchased by Scott Wright & Sarah Ross in 2008, with a vision to use the property to share their passions with local and foreign visitors. What started out as a small café operation, known for its cosy, laid back country atmosphere, soon became a bustling weekend must-do as Scott and Sarah worked tirelessly to reinvigorate the property.

Sarah, who runs the café and kitchen, finds immense pleasure in sharing good food and coffee with visitors. Along with a small handful of staff, you’ll find Sarah cooking away out the back, either flipping her reputation worthy Barn Burgers for lunch or preparing an array of delicious sweet and savoury delights for an upcoming wedding, Christmas or birthday party.

Scott, on the other hand, can generally be found in his garage, having a good ole’ chat with like-minded folk who have stumbled upon something truly awe-inspiring. Scott spent four years designing, building and facilitating the creation of Scotty’s Garage – a museum showcasing a lost era of vintage cars, motorbikes, jukeboxes and all things ‘retro’. Opening his personal collection to the public, Scott’s love and passion for vintage antiques has brought back treasured memories for those old enough, and created new memories for those not.

Behind the scenes, both Scott and Sarah work with customers to create their perfect event and pride themselves on hosting weddings, corporate functions and parties that offer guests something a little extra.
The business can cater for an array of different customers, from those looking for a vintage country themed wedding, to those wanting a space for the kids to run around while celebrating over coffee and cake.
