Enjoy a visit to Somerset's country markets this weekend
Experience local produce at its finest and home-made treats galore along the Somerset Weekend Market Trail.
With fresh home-grown vegies; locally produced honey; lovingly made sweets and condiments; and artisan crafts and gifts; Somerset markets are brimming with country charm.
On Saturdays, start your journey at the weekly Esk Country Markets where Pipeliner Park comes alive with market stalls and music from 7am until 12pm.
Next, admire the views over Somerset Dam as you travel north to the town of Kilcoy. Yowie Park is a hive of activity on the last Saturday of the month from 7.30am until 12.30pm when the Kilcoy Yowie Country Markets come to town. Stroll through the stalls and don’t forget to grab yourself a famous Yowie Coffee while you’re there. Why not make a weekend of it and stay overnight at the Exchange Hotel Kilcoy, where you can eat, stay and play? The Exchange Hotel Kilcoy’s resident chef purchases locally sourced produce to create a delicious range of seasonal and classic dishes.
Grab yourself a quick breakfast at Nash Gallery and Café, Angie’s Country Café or the Red Deer Cafe, in Esk before heading south to Fernvale. Finish off your market adventure with a stroll through the weekly Fernvale Country Markets from 6am until 12pm at the Fernvale State School. Treat yourself to one of the Old Fernvale Bakery’s world-famous pies for your trip home!
