Located directly across the road from Laurel Bank Park, Urban Grounds Cafe is the ideal place to start your day, as they say breakfast is the most important meal! Fuel up on their almon, citrus and caper croquettes with avocado and grilled lemon salad and pickled jalepeno sauce gribiche before wandering over to Laurel Bank Park.
After you've explored Laurel Bank Park it is time to stop by the incredibly popular The Baker's Duck to grab your morning tea, a apple crumble eclair is waiting for you. The Baker's Duck is also conveniently located on the same street as the Botanic Gardens at Queens Park, so it is a great opportunity to get the eclair as take away and enjoy it at the Botanic Gardens as a little picnic.
Once you have wandered through the beautiful blooms at Queens Park, it's time to head to your lunch destination, Piccolo Papa. Piccolo Papa is located in beautiful Duggan Lane at Grand Central Shopping Centre. Here your lunch special is Spaghetti Tricolore - resembling the Italian flag, this dish is Spring itself! Homemade fresh spaghetti, sugo, straggiatella cheese and traditional pesto.
Wander through the CBD and check out all the little shopping boutiques and uncover the street art hidden down little alleyways, visit the street art interactive map on the Visit Toowoomba Region website for a full listing of outdoor artwork.
After you've worked up an appetite exploring the CBD, head to one of Toowoomba's Rooftop Bars, George Banks. Enjoy the views overlooking the CBD, sitback and relax with a cold beverage and indulge in their spring wine platter - brie, salami, sourdough bread, Lavosh crackers, marinated olives, tomato relish and truffle butter.
Once your tummy is settled and you are ready for more food, head to Season's on Ruthven Restaurant & Wine Bar for dinner. Seasons offers an upmarket dining experience with a reflection of the vibrant culinary scene in the greater Darling Downs region and provides the perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two. Try out their September special, soft shell crab with lemon butter, light salad and chargrilled lime..
Let's not forget to finish the day off with dessert, after all there is always room for it right!? Head to Muller Bros
down Bell St Mall, and enjoy their Spring Special - charred vanilla poached pear with rosemary meringue, smoked vanilla ice cream and spiced syrup, dusted with rosemary sugar, gluten free too! If you don't feel like collapsing into a food coma after today, Muller Bros is also a great spot to continue the night with some drinks and live music, on their rooftop.
